Eric Nernberg opened the Union Grill in 1994 and since then it has become one of the most popular restaurants of its size in Pittsburgh. Many of the current staff have worked in the Union Grill since its opening year, leaving owner Eric Nernberg free to head to South East Asia in 2003 to pursue other ventures.
Now, after a six year publishing focus in Thailand, Eric will be returning to Pittsburgh with big plans for the restaurant that has continued to flourish under the Head Chef.
About The Union Grill
Well known for large servings of delicious meals made from scratch, the Union Grill has thrived under Chef Jim Dillon. The Half Price Happy Hour, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day, and the $10 wine list are just a few of the things that have been drawing crowds to this popular Pittsburgh based restaurant.
Owner Eric Nernberg harbors a special place in his heart for the Union Grill, and he has sold his shares in his Thailand based publishing company in order be able to return to his hometown of Pittsburgh and focus on his restaurant.
Two of Eric’s favorite things about the Union Grill include the diverse customers and the loyal staff, and he plans to expand on those two things. Upon his return, Eric Nernberg plans to renovate and expand the Union Grill to appeal to current crowds and to draw even more clientele.
